When it comes to designing and building a website many small details are eventually left out of the design process. These details are easy to miss because the overall look and feel of the website has changed a lot. Let’s dig into the 5 key elements to keep in mind which will polish your website.

1. Links: Include the followingstates for all links on the page.

• Normal: This is the default stateof a link; i.e. one that is not being hovered over or being clicked or pointingto a URL that the user has already visited. This link format has been coveredby the majority of designers.

• Visited: This is a link that isnot being hovered over or clicked but whose target has been visited by theuser.

• Active: An active link is onethat is currently being clicked by the user. Most developers will replicate thehover state here if a style is not provided to them.

• Hover: Finally, the hover stateis what the link looks like when the user mouses over it. This and the normalstates are the ones most designers prepare for.
